Abstract:
The Coalition Battle Management Language (C-BML) is a standard language for expressing and exchanging plans, orders, requests, and reports across command and control (C2) systems, modeling and simulation systems, and autonomous systems participating in Coalition operations. It is proposed as an interoperability-enabling technology that will support the exchange of information across C2, simulation and robotic systems; and served as an enabler to increase effectiveness of various ctivities in support of coalition operations including training, planning and mission execution. In this paper, after an overview of the development and utilization of C-BML, the concept and basic structure of C-BML are described. Then, the development approaches and roadmap of C-BML are further discussed according to the main di±culties in the development of C-BML phase 1. And the key technologies are analyzed in detail from the perspective of data model, grammar ontology, interaction protocol, services, etc. In the end, C-BML's future and its e®ect on military operations are concluded. The research seeks to provide technical and methodological inspiration for the development ours BML.
