Abstract: Launching is an essential process for mission execution of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). The current other-power launch methods of UAVs are enumerated. The working principles of each methods are presented. Current states of UAVs0 other-power launching at home and aboard are introduced. Then, this paper compares di®erent kinds of UAV launch equipment as well as prospects future developing trend of UAVs0 other-power launching. Finally, the key technologies of launch equipment selection and design are pointed out.
