Abstract: To effectively address the development of“anti-access/area denial”capabilities by great powers and to overcome the significant challenges associated with traditional force projection in modern warfare, the U.S. Air Force has proposed the concept of“agile combat employment（ACE）.”In December 2021, the U. S. Air Force published its inaugural doctrine note on ACE. The historical development and contextual background of the ACE concept are sorted out, the conceptual essence and core elements of ACE are expounded, and a comparative analysis of operational concepts proposed by the U.S. military is conducted. An operational idea of ACE is proposed in this study, with a focus on the implementation of the operational chain. The study contributes valuable insights into the operational mechanisms of ACE and deepens our understanding of the capabilities of the U.S. Air Force.
