Abstract:
Cognitive confrontation is an emerging field in future military operations. It is vital to evaluate the influence of cognitive manipulation technology on military activities, especially command and control processes. To address this issue, the quality function deployment (QFD) method is adopted to construct the house of quality (HoQ). Eight key links of command and control are extracted based on the PREA-OODA loop model. A list of core cognitive manipulation technologies is obtained via the hierarchical topic discovery model combined with expert insights. The weight matrix based on analytic hierarchy process (AHP), technology interaction matrix and correlation matrix are constructed sequentially to acquire evaluation results. The results show that judgment, decision-making and planning links in command and control are highly vulnerable to cognitive manipulation. The tactical level is more susceptible than the strategic and operational levels. Life sciences and digital technologies play a critical role in command and control research under cognitive manipulation.
