Abstract: For the fact that currently the survey on edge computing mainly concentrates on the work under friendly city environments, this paper pays attention to the background that mobile devices are increasingly applied to battlefield and the challenges faced. The research situation on edge computing under harsh environments is investigated in terms of the related organization, application modes and advances in collaborative techniques. Further, some important problems that remain to be solved in edge computing under battlefield environments are proposed, looking forward to providing technique references and research directions for the development of information service at the tactical edge.
